North Armoury started with a simple frustration: getting good HEMA equipment in Canada should not be this difficult.

Based in Ontario, we are a Canadian HEMA retailer carrying protective gear, training swords, apparel, and accessories from makers in Canada and around the world. We also develop North Armoury equipment to our own specifications, working with manufacturers to improve products based on what we actually want to use, stock, and recommend.

We are fencers ourselves, and that shapes how we approach the shop. We care about the things that actually matter once equipment gets onto the training floor: fit, protection, durability, handling, replacement parts, and whether something is worth the price. 

A big part of North Armoury is making HEMA easier to access in Canada. That means bringing in equipment that can otherwise be difficult or expensive to source here, supporting Canadian makers where we can, and helping customers figure out what they actually need instead of simply selling them more gear.

We also operate North Armoury Academy in Toronto, where we teach historical European martial arts and stay directly connected to the people using this equipment every week. The store is the centre of North Armoury, but teaching and fencing are a big part of how we continue to evaluate what works, what does not, and what is worth carrying.
